Good deal for Ottawa.

Dorion continues to get amazing value on Hoffman and most of the team. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets Ceci for less then $4 million now.

Happy to the have Hoff long term, no one does the old cost to cost like the Hoff.

Hoff, need some big goals from you this year, eye of the tiger time.

It's a wonder nobody gave him an offer sheet, this was a prime opportunity. The Sens are cheap (frank)s, they wouldn't have matched if it was 6mil or over.

Ceci will be 5M as well, you can thank DeKeyser for that

I guess teams have informed with his agent if he would sign an offer sheet or not, otherwise they would be stupid not to ask.

no he wont, he will be 2.5-3m aav on a 2 year bridge deal. He is an RFA at 21 andd didnt have a great year to go after the long term extention. You wont be buying up his UFA years like in the Dekeyser extention (5 out of the 6 years)

That would be a nice cap hit, don't like the bridge deal idea for Ceci though. Rather lock him up longer term, his underlying numbers were pretty good.

We saw how well building bridges with Subban went, literally and figuratively

You cannot offer sheet a player who has filed for arbitration.

well if Ceci wins a norris on a bridge deal, thats a good problem to have to deal with later.

I would assume his agents would advise against a long term deal, go with the bridge, move closer to UFA, pad his stats and then ask for the logn term extension to get a larger contract since they would be buying up up prime UFA years instead

Great deal. Hoffman and Tatar are 2 of the most underrated forwards in the league.

Are we really bringing up Subban when talking about an average D man like Ceci?

Are you mad, or jeally? On a side note, it's one thing for the sens fans to assume that management is cheap, but its another thing for any other fans to claim that. Dorion did an exceptional job signing Hoffman, he played his cards better than any other GM would, which is why he didn't have to offer 6M$ to get him. You underestimate the team because in the end Hoffman, alike Stone and upcoming Ceci all want to stay in Ottawa. In business world, Dorion did a great job. You're ass is just sore because you guys will get Hoffbliterated next year.

Ceci's highest career similarity score per hockey reference is Eric Gelinas

This is a great move by the Sens. Good term and cap hit.

Now Ceci should come in around 3-3.5M a year.

Great deal and glad they got it done.

I'm a total cynic when it comes to the Sens and their finances. Any other Sens fans a little concerned by the structure and him only making 3.8M in the first season of the deal?

It makes me concerned that Hoffman will be traded next summer.
